One-atom maser: Non-separable atom pairs
نویسندگان
چکیده
When a one-atom maser is operated in the standard way — excited, resonant two-level atoms traverse the resonator at random times — the emerging atoms are entangled with the cavity field. As a consequence, the results of measurements on different atoms tend to be correlated. We show that truly non-classical correlations can be found between two successive atoms by studying the properties of the reduced state of such an atom pair. In particular, we calculate its degree of separability and find parameter ranges in which it is markedly less than unity. Dedicated to the memory of Professor Aleksandr Mikhailovich Prokhorov.

Effects of Dicke Superradiance in the Context of the One-atom Maser
We consider a micromaser model to study the influence of Dicke superradiance in the context of the one-atom maser. The model involves a microwave cavity into which twolevel Rydberg atoms are pumped in pairs. We consider a random pump mechanism which allows the presence of at most one pair of atoms in the cavity at any time. We analyze the differences between the present system, called the Dicke...
متن کاملDouble-resonance frequency shift in a hydrogen maser
We use the dressed-atom formalism to calculate the frequency shift in a hydrogen maser induced by applied radiation near the Zeeman frequency, and find excellent agreement with a previous calculation made in the bare-atom basis. The maser oscillates on the DF51, DmF50 hyperfine transition, while the applied field is swept through the F51, DmF561 Zeeman resonance. We determine the effect of the ...
متن کاملExperiments with the One-atom-maser
There are only fistful of systems in physics that can be described by an exact theory from first principles and, at the same time, can be investigated under experimental conditions approaching the idealized theoretical ones. The one-atom-maser or micromaser provides such an example, making a detailed study of the fundamental properties of the atom-field interaction possible. The situation reali...
متن کاملThe Deterministic Generation of Photons by Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics
Cavity quantum electrodynamics allows the study of strong coupling between excited atoms and a single mode of a resonant cavity. As a consequence of the strong coupling the cavity field and the atom are entangled. The system thus provides important ingredients necessary for studies of quantum information processing. In addition the periodic exchange of a photon between atom and cavity can be st...
متن کاملThe structural and density state calculation of B Nitrogen doped silicene nano flake
In this paper, we study the effect of single Boron/Nitrogen impurityatom on electronic properties of a silicene nano flake. Our calculations are basedon density functional theory by using Gaussian package. Here, one Si atom insilicene nano flake substitutes with a Boron/Nitrogen atom. The results show thatsubstitution of one Si atom with single Boron/Nitrogen atom increases distanceof impurity ...
